Subset is a Las Vegas-based DJ and experience creator who is known for playing a wide range of music, from house and techno to dubstep, rock, funk, soul, reggae, hip hop and more. He has established a recurring international tour schedule for over a decade, and has made positivity and vulnerability a core tenet of his brand - spreading his favorite question around the world - What Are You Thankful For?
For 12 years, Subset was at the head of weekly and monthly club events in New York City (BASSment Saturdays @ Webster Hall) and Seattle (Noise Complaint, Field Trip, Q Nightclub) as a curator, promoter, resident DJ, stage manager, and technician. Alongside his work in the local club scene, Subset gained a cult following with his renegade sets at Holy Ship from 2012-15, which led to him being booked every year starting in 2016 and helped cement his status as an underground legend.
In 2019, Subset co-founded The Instigators, a troupe that hosts activities and interactive experiences at music festivals around the world. The Instigators are booked annually at Electric Forest and Lost Lands, and have also been booked for Holy Ship, Above & Beyond's Group Therapy Weekender, Desert Hearts, and Closer to the Sun. From talent shows, yoga, game shows, and workshops to their late night crafting party Crafter Hours, you can find Subset behind the decks expertly providing the perfect soundtrack for their shenanigans.
In 2020, Subset made the pivot to livestreaming, and quickly built a name with one of the most innovative and creative livestreams on Twitch fusing his multigenre talents with custom-built green screen stages overlaid with creative visuals and live dancers. With no boundaries stopping him, Subset was known to stream 10+ hour sets multiple times every week, and in late 2020 he set a record with a 69-hour continuous DJ set live on Twitch. His exuberant livestream presence landed him weekly residencies on Blond:ish's Abracadabra and Claude VonStroke's Dirtybird Twitch channels.
With the skills he learned to produce his own streams, he helped design and execute livestreams with his partners at DDR.Live for many world-renowned brands such as Lightning in a Bottle, Anjunabeats, Dirtybird Records, Seven Lions, The Funk Hunters, Gabriel & Dresden, and the University of San Francisco.
Over the last few years, Subset has continued his mission of spreading joy and positivity around the world with his music. 2024 saw Subset with his heaviest year of touring, and in October he chose Las Vegas as his new home base.
2025 is looking to be Subset's year of expanded reach. In February, he distilled his years of festival activities experience into his role as Activities Director for the Friendship music festival. His performance there had led to more work in the realm of shenanigan coordination, with upcoming roles at Starbase Music Festival and EDC Vegas.
